Welcome to Action Argyll
The emerging destination for adventure seekers and outdoor enthusiasts, everywhere.
Already recognised as a must visit destination for walkers, hikers, and road cyclists, we are partnering with some of the world’s most experienced mountain bikers to develop our natural trails into the ultimate biking experience.
Engineering as much psychology into our trails as physics, our routes have a sense of magic, genius and wonder to them. A feeling that you’ll only get as you thread through and around the area’s forests, mountains and valleys, taking in the views over the Firth of Clyde, and experiencing nature in action.
Just instinct and awe, to the bone – for every level of rider.
But you don’t need two wheels to experience the best of Argyll – from hiking to zip-lining in the future, there is plenty to get stuck into.

The best is yet to come.
At the moment, our mountain biking trails are only suitable for experienced riders. But we’re working tirelessly to change that. We promise.
Together with Greg Minnaar, four-time World Champion Mountain Biker and Action Argyll Ambassador, we’re extending our existing single-track trails from an average of 14km to 42km, developing our trails to be suitable for every level of rider.
On top of that, in 2023, we’ll open the first phase of our world-class zip-line centre ‘The Dunoon Towers’, promising visitors *the* most exhilarating zip-line in *the* most specular setting. We’ll also be launching our visitor centre, which will provide changing rooms, lockers, bike storage and so on.
In the meantime, our gravel cycle trails and walking and hiking routes offer plenty of options for adventurers of all ages and capabilities.
So get ready.
how you can help
The Dunoon Project is an ambitious initiative being progressed by the community of Dunoon.
It has been recognised that imagination and ambition is needed to reverse the town’s fortunes and in so doing establish it as Scotland’s premier destination for outdoor adventure activities.
It is seeking to build on the activities of the Argyll & The Isles Tourism Cooperative (AITC), positioning Argyll as Scotland’s Adventure Coast. The Dunoon Project is therefore seeking to capitalise on the town’s unique assets to tackle its regeneration head on, by creating employment opportunities, developing the area’s environmental credentials, improving the wellbeing of locals, and delivering long-term economic benefits to Dunoon and the wider region.
Visitors and members of the public can demonstrate their support through The Dunoon Project website and their social media channels.
