The Cycling Academy – Winter Camp 2021
The Cycling Academy held their Winter Camp in 2021 in the Cowal Peninsula, as it combines quiet roads on all kinds of terrain with a large number of loops which can be combined.
The Cycling Academy will be returning in October and November for their 2022 training camps.
2022 was the first full season for The Cycling Academy. Their highlights included:
- 3x U19 Scottish National Championships wins – Elijah Kwon – Road, Finn Mason – Mountain Bike and Archie Ellen – Criterion. Eight of the twelve medals in these competitions were won by their riders.
- They secured 8 Top 10’s in British National Junior National Series races, including 4th in stage 3 of Junior Tour of Wales where Archie Ellen created a break which held to the finish. Finn Mason also took the KOM jersey at Cadence Junior Road Race.
- In their first senior UCI race their U23 rider Gregor McArthur held off former world Champ Mads Pederson in a group of 6 riders for 120km in the breakaway before being reeled in.
- In 2022 their riders raced in the UK, France, Belgium, Denmark, Switzerland and Canada in over 60 days of racing.
